Last night we had a pretty rough night. Chuck was gone at the library till about 3:30am so I had put the girls to bed myself a little early so I could relax.
Lucy woke up several times fussing around midnight. Usually Chuck and I trade off who helps the kids out in the middle of the night, but since he was gone it was just me. Between 2:30 and 3am Lucy just would not calm down. I finally went in her room and it smelled SO BAD. I realized Lucy had thrown up and it was all over her bed, pillow, blankets, and her head. I felt so bad for making her roll around in her puke for who knows how long.I changed the sheets and her clothes, then gave her a little sponge bath. She had just settled down when Chuck came home (now 3:30am).
At about 4am Leland started crying hysterically. I thought "Oh great now she has thrown up!" When I went into her room she was crying so hard she could not tell me what was wrong. She finally blurted out between the tears "I lost my microphone and I can't find it anywhere!!" I started laughing at this point. Poor girl was having a bad dream about a lost microphone. She even came into our room at 6:45am still wimpering about a lost microphone.
Needless to say we didn't get much sleep last night between the puke and 'lost microphones'. Then at 7am we were graced with a wake up call from my 1 year old nephew who was playing with my sister's phone. (This is 2 mornings in a row with such a call. You would think she would lock the keys or something) I'm feeling a little queezy today, so hopefully we don't have a stomach flu.
The joy of being a mom - you take the good with the not so good.
Oh man! I really feel for you as I know exactly how you are feeling. No husband and sick kids makes you very greatfull for the times when your husband is home and all that they do.
ReplyDeleteUh oh, Noah is in TROUBLE! I hope everyone feels better soon!!! You are so funny....
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry for the sleepless night and sick little girl. I am also sorry that my little man called you this morning (and Sunday morning)...hey when your kids are quiet sometimes you just enjoy it for a moment before you check on what they were doing. I will try to remember to put my phone on lock...last week he called Suzie 7 times and my friend once -- oops! Hope you get a better nights sleep tonight!!
ReplyDeleteWe had a rough night as well last night--but no throw-up. Just a bunch of bad dreams (also about lost toys) and falls out of beds!! Who really needs sleep anyway, it is so overrated! :)I hope you all feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteoh honey...you've only just begun! didnt you know mom=nosleep. just gotta keep pluggin along :)
ReplyDeleteOh my! I am so sorry you guys didn't have a good night! I hope you aren't coming down with the stomach flu too. Its not so fun. But hopefully tonight will be better and you will all be feeling better soon!
ReplyDeleteWhat no comments about Leland's microphone concerns? The girl has become a singing and dancing machine.
ReplyDeleteOh boy..what a night. I just told Spencer that Ty is never allowed to get sick! I can only imagine things to come for us. Oh and the microphone thing was pretty funny.
ReplyDeleteI thought that same thing Chuck! I feel so sad for Ashley's lack of sleep but the microphone thing is hilarious!!! I guess everyone who has posted before me is a mother and understands the sympathetic need of Ashley. ASh, I do feel so sad and it makes me nervous to be a mom- but the mic thing is HILARIOUS!!!!
ReplyDeleteI feel for ya. Remember me freaking out about Tallon passing out and I had to call you, call Chuck, to get Collins! I'm so sorry she was sick, I hope the rest of you have avoided it. I was laughing so hard about Leland. That is so cute (a little sad of course) but really funny.
