VMI Dress Parade

We recently went to a VMI dress parade. The cadets all march in formation and are presented to a reviewing officer for inspection. This formal event is patterned after a same event VMI cadets did starting in 1778.

We have lots of video that I need to go through and edit, then I will write more. It was a really neat thing to watch and has been on our to-do list ever since moving here. The cadets do a dress parade generally every Friday afternoon. It is a must-see if you are ever in Lex.

  1. So that is way cooler than I thought. I thought they just marched around on a road in their white uniforms. We are definitely going one of these days!
